Reasons to Join the Chamber

Otsego Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement
To serve the greater Otsego Business Community. In fulfilling this mission, the Otsego Chamber of Commerce promotes economic growth, and community development, through volunteer leadership, for the long term benefit of the businesses and citizens in this area.

Promotion is one of the major elements of any successful business, and we take every opportunity to promote your business from the very start!

Our Newest Member
Our newest members are featured in the Chamber & Business News insert in the Union Enterprise and the Allegan Country News and Gazette on the first Thursday of each month. Over 12,000 subscribers will have the chance to read all about your business. We promote your services in an introduction that gives everyone the opportunity to get to know you.

Community Packet
The Otsego Chamber of Commerce compiles and distributes a community packet for prospective and new businesses and residents, real estate offices, organizations, etc. Our members are invited to include anything from a business card to a booklet in this packet to promote their business and services. This gives members the first available opportunity to introduce their business to the newcomers.

References and Referrals
We are probably the largest recipients of request for business references and referrals. We believe and proudly communicate that our members can provide the requester with superior services and products. Our members are always the first to be referred.

What’s New with Our Members
Is there a special event coming up in your business? Has your company recently reached a significant milestone? Have you changed locations, hours, added a unique new product or service? If so, we would like to know about it so we can share your news with others. We feature a special section in the Chamber & Business News specifically for our members to announce this information. This is a great way to get free advertising.

Do You Have Any Information On…?
We designate substantial space within our office to furnish promotional information on our members, as well as information on travel and tourism, culture, civic and educational activities, various governmental materials, etc. If we do not have it, we will find out where to get it.

Free Display Booth
If you are a chamber member, you are entitled to set up a free display booth for the Creative Arts Festival.

Website
The chamber’s website is www.otsegochamber.org, all of our members are listed with their address and phone number along with a link to their website. We have found that this has been very successful and convenient for everyone. You may also send us a brief description of your business to place on our website.

What Does a Chamber of Commerce Do?
You have probably heard that question asked at one time or another. it’s a legitimate question and many people have no real concept of what a Chamber of Commerce is, or how it works.
The Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst. A common vehicle through which businesses and professional people can promote themselves and work together for the common good of the community. A better community means better business conditions and a stronger community.

Why You Should Be a Chamber Member

Your membership helps to support the Scholarship Program, the Chamber Golf Outing, the Creative Arts Festival, Halloween “Trail for Treaters”, the Christmas Parade and member breakfasts.
Additional Chamber Activities Include: 5:01 Mixers, Annual Dinner and various other events.

You are the Chamber of Commerce. You provide the ideas, the drive, the goals and the funds to keep the Chamber of Commerce doing what it does. Without you, there would be no chamber, and who would do all those things if the chamber didn’t.
